MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis Shelby County School bus driver crashed into an apartment building in the Nutbush area Wednesday morning after suffering from a medical emergency, according to reports.

Memphis Police say the accident happened around 6:15 a.m. at the Macon Crossing apartments at 3645 Macon Road.

MSCS says the bus driver experienced a medical emergency which resulted in them losing control of the bus and crashing into the building.

There were two students on the bus during the time of the incident, but no injuries have been reported.

A mother and her 15-year-old son were in the bedroom when the bus crashed through. They were not physically injured.

A neighbor helped translate Sandy Gramajo’s Spanish, and she said that it was horrible. “The sound of the feeling, it even shook the apartment,” Gramajo said.

“She thought that if her son really had, happened something to him that she would prefer to die as well if something ever happened to her son,” the neighbor translated.
