MEMPHIS, Tenn. — An alleged hazing incident caught on video has one University of Mississippi fraternity in hot water.

Phi Delta Theta is under an interim suspension as the school investigates.

Students who have seen the video tell us it involves new members forced to drink a white substance — perhaps milk or glue — while lying on their backs. There may have been more videos involved as well.

Back in 2021, two other Ole Miss fraternities, Pi Kappa Alpha and Kappa Alpha Psi,  were suspended until 2025 for alleged hazing incidents.

In a statement, the University of Mississippi says they take these allegations seriously, adding in part, “The university has placed the Mississippi Alpha Chapter of Phi Delta Theta on interim suspension, which includes pausing new member activities.”

Letter alleges major NCAA violations against Penny Hardaway’s Memphis Tigers program

And while members of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity are presenting a united front in their home, the national headquarters released a statement as well, saying all students involved in the incident have had their memberships suspended with “further disciplinary actions to be taken as necessary.”

The statement goes on to say, “The organization does not tolerate any actions that directly contradict the values and policies of the Fraternity and holds strict rulings against members and chapters that violate Fraternity expectations and the law.”

The University of Mississippi says at this point, no legal action has been taken.
