Cordova woman’s car stolen from her driveway

    By Alan Selph,

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Cordova woman’s nightmares came true when her home was surrounded by gunmen.

Not only did they steal her car but Chelsey Allen told WREG that it was her only means of transportation.

“I worked hard for my vehicle. I paid it off in full,” Allen said. “It’s how I got to work. I can’t take my daughter to school right now. She missed school all last week. I just want to stop everybody for the sake of Memphis.”

Surveillance video shows suspects lurking around her home around 11 p.m.

Allen said they turned her camera away, but her neighbor’s camera was able to pick up what happened next.

A few hours later, they returned to her home pointing guns at the front door and garage. The gunmen then stole her Infiniti G37 right from her driveway.

She told WREG that the memory of guns being pointed at her home was traumatizing.

“He stood here at the garage. I guess in case anyone opened it,” Allen said. “We’re in and out of the door at all times – come and grab stuff out of the car and bring the dogs out. So, (it’s) scary to know that a person was standing right at our doorway with a gun.”

To make matters worse, Allen said the stolen car held sentimental value.

Her father passed away less than a month ago and inside the car, she had his belongings.

She’s begging the thieves to return the car or at least her father’s memories.

“Find a way to turn your lives around and do the right thing,” Allen said. “If you have to just take the stuff out of the car and drop it off at a police precinct or somewhere I can find it. That will be appreciated too.”

So far, the police say there have been no arrests.
