    Fayette County Sheriff’s Office captain killed in motorcycle crash

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office announced that one of their captains passed away in a motorcycle accident Saturday night.

    At approximately 7 p.m., Captain Shannon “Dale” Phillips was involved in a single motorcycle crash in Somerville, Tennessee.

    In a social media post, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office issued the following statement.

    Captain Phillips selflessly gave over 25 years of service to the citizens of Fayette County. He has held many positions throughout our department over the years, most recently assigned as Captain to our uniformed patrol division. He proved to be an exceptional leader, partner, and friend. Most significantly, he was our BROTHER. His dedication, integrity, and honesty remains unmatched.
