More of Francine’s impact on the Mid-South

BARTLETT, Tenn. — The remnants of Francine continue to be felt as MLGW says there are thousands of customers still without power and the rain is expected to continue the next couple days.

Traffic signs and wires were down, and in Raleigh a tree was on top of a car, knocking power out to parts of Raleigh for hours.

Mildred Spencer says she lost power for more than six hours. It was the same story all around Memphis including parts of Barlett.

The neighborhood in the area of Bartlett Boulevard and Memphis Arlington was left in the dark.

“They gotta do better, they should have been better prepared for this. They’ve been talking about this storm so should have just been more prepared,” Spencer said.

But sometimes there’s not much that can be done, except pick up the pieces.

There was a truck pileup on I-55 and I-555 that blocked traffic for part of the afternoon.

But the good news is, while the rain may stick around for a bit, the damage hopefully will not.
