    Fun events happening in Memphis this weekend

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — It’s finally Friday, and that means it’s time to take a look at several events happening across the greater Memphis area this weekend.

    Thousands will be at Liberty Park tomorrow for the 35th annual Southern Heritage Classic where the golden lions of the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff take on the Tennessee State University tigers.

    Meanwhile, downtown, the classic can be enjoyed in a different way. The National Civil Rights Museum has a new exhibit honoring the city’s historic game.

    The exhibit focuses on the history of this weekend’s celebration, HBCUs, athletics, and Memphis culture. The exhibit will end in February 2025.

    Friday is the kickoff for the Mid-South Corn Maze . It’s held at the Agricenter from now until November 2.

    Tickets start at $8 for kids and $12 for adults. To really scare you this spooky season, there is going to be a haunted corn maze.

    Orion is hosting its family-friendly free concert series featuring Memphis-based artist ‘Healy’. You can head out there to the Overton Park Shell on Friday night at 7.

    Now brace yourself, it’s Memphis’s most anticipated event, the Cooper-Young Festival ! The outdoor extravaganza is on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.

    Attendees will enjoy appealing arts and crafts from artists all over the country plus a special concert by the queen of Memphis soul, Carla Thomas.

    Another festival on Saturday is the Memfit Festival . It is the perfect place for you this weekend if you’re a fitness enthusiast.

    It will be held at ‘Ambishun Fitness’ on Covington Pike from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. You can get tickets right now for $20.

    After that event, you can head over to the Mid-Autumn Festival at Crosstown Concourse. This is an event for the whole family to bask in the beauty of Asian culture.

    The festival is from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

    Sunday at noon is the fifth annual Memphis Yoga Festival at the Brooks Museum.

    You can get tickets right now for $45 or on the day of $55. All ages and fitness levels are welcome.
