MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman was arrested over the weekend after Memphis Police say she pistol-whipped her girlfriend and threatened to shoot a pregnant woman and a teenager.

On Saturday at approximately 1:40 a.m., officers arrived at a domestic disturbance in the 2000 block of Ketchum Road.

A female victim told officers that her girlfriend, Tanaka McGee, began punching her in the face after she refused to let her see her phone.

A witness said she went to the victim’s apartment after she heard the two arguing. She told officers she saw McGee pointing a pink and gray handgun at the victim.

The witness said when she got in between the two to try to break things up, McGee threatened to shoot her and her unborn child.

McGee also allegedly threatened to shoot the victim’s 14-year-old son.

As the victim was trying to leave, McGee allegedly pistol-whipped her. Officers observed that she had a swollen face and lacerations to the back of her head.

Officers recovered a pink and silver 9mm handgun from the scene.

When McGee was arrested, she told officers that she’d “consumed a lot of alcohol”. In the police report, it said she “appeared to be very incoherent.”

McGee has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault, domestic assault and violating bail conditions.
