Cordova convenience store robbed, shot fired

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police say an armed robber got away with cash after firing a shot inside a Cordova convenience store Saturday — the second armed robbery at the store in a year.

Memphis Police say a man wearing a ski mask and carrying a handgun walked into the Berryhill Market, a gas station at 1885 Berryhill Road and Chimneyrock Boulevard, at 10:30 Saturday night.

He demanded money from the clerk, and while the clerk was opening the cash drawer, police say he fired a shot into the ceiling.

After getting cash, the man ran west on Chimneyrock. Police provided this photo of the suspect.

It’s not the first time Berryhill Market has been targeted in a robbery. Police are still looking for a suspect who they say robbed the store at gunpoint on September 27 of last year.

They released this photo of the man wanted in the 2023 robbery.

I was in high school and moved out there back in 77 and glad my mother got out by 82 because it's nothing like it was and that's too bad. You get the bad element that comes in and ruins it for everyone else.
