Student arrested for making threats against Crockett County school

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A juvenile was arrested in Crockett County, Tennessee after investigators say they made threats of mass violence against a school.

A student who heard remarks made by another student Monday reported the threats.

According to the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department, the suspected student was isolated from the other students and their backpack was checked.

Investigators found evidence of vandalism of school property.

The suspect did not have a weapon in their possession and the motive for making those threatening remarks has not yet been established.

The suspect was removed from the school and will face criminal charges in juvenile court as well as disciplinary actions from the Crockett County School Board.
