MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man shot last month in the parking lot of a South Memphis nightclub has been charged with attempted second-degree murder in connection to the incident.

Stanley Fason, 37, who was booked in the Shelby County Jail Monday, was also charged with employing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.

Investigators said Fason opened fire on another man outside The Spot in the 500 block of Parkway over a missing gun.

Police said Fason accused the victim of stealing his weapon, grabbed his girlfriend’s gun, and shot the victim several times. Fason was also wounded when the victim returned fire.

Last week, the girlfriend was charged with facilitation of attempted second-degree murder.

According to detectives, April Alexander-Bachus removed a pistol from the trunk of her car and gave it to Fason.

Alexander-Bachus allegedly told Fason, “Give me that gun back if you ain’t gonna shoot the m*********.”

Police said video from a Real Time Crime Center camera nearby showed multiple people searching the ground for Fason’s missing gun with their cell phone flashlights right before the shooting.

Detectives said the footage also showed Fason raise his girlfriend’s gun, the victim draws his weapon, and both men fire their weapons.

Alexander-Bachus was released from jail on a $15,000 bond and will be back in court on September 25. Fason is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.
