MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Thousands of MLGW customers in the Collierville area are affected by a power outage Sunday night.

According to Memphis Light, Gas, and Water, a “failure” at a substation that serves the Collierville area led to a widespread outage. At one point, more than 8,000 customers were affected.

MLGW says crews are actively working to restore power but do not have an estimated repair time.

Sunday’s outage comes only days after a squirrel damaged a circuit breaker at an MLGW substation and left more than 10,000 customers without power.
