BARTLETT, Tenn. — A massive fire at an apartment complex in Bartlett is bringing the community together.

Families at the Quail Ridge Apartments that have been displaced are now moving into new homes and restarting their lives from scratch. Multiple families lost everything, but Quail Ridge Church of Christ and other churches in the area are working to make sure it is only temporary.

“It’s devastating. It’s awful to see their whole lives in those homes that are just gone,” said Katlyn Warren, Outreach Coordinator at Legacy Church.

People in the area seeing the need and showing up, donating food, furniture and more.

So much has been donated that the church has had to do something quite unique — stop taking donations.

“We have had to stop that because we have almost everything we need,” Warren said.

Volunteers will tell you that’s a good problem to have

“God is good. He has provided a way for these families to find new hope and be restored and we are just grateful that we get to be apart of it and help them,” Warren said.

Families walk in and grab everything they need, leaving with essentials for a fresh start and a smile. The donation center is set to close on Thursday.

We reached out to Bartlett Fire to find out how many people were displaced and we have not heard back. The cause of fire has not been released.
