MEMPHIS, TN — A camera was rolling when three young car thieves stole a vehicle outside an apartment building Sunday afternoon along busy Highland Avenue.

Police released video on Facebook that appears to show the car thieves using a programmer to start the white 2020 Infiniti Q50 in the 400 block of Highland.

MPD said four suspects pulled up in a silver Nissan Maxima and broke out the sunroof of the Infiniti to get inside the car. The car thieves were in the lot for over two minutes.

The video shows a number of vehicles pass by on Highland during the car theft. You can even see one driver pull into the parking lot right behind the suspects. At one point, one of the suspects displays a handgun.

Police said the suspects were accompanied by a second suspect vehicle, a red Chevrolet Corvette, believed to have been stolen by the same individuals.
