    Tropical Storm Helene makes way through the Mid-South

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The remnants of Tropical Storm Helene will be felt across much of the Mid-South area Friday, in the form of “areas of heavy rain,” and “pockets of gusting winds.”

    According to the National Weather Service, a flood watch will continue until 7 a.m. on Saturday. However, the bulk of rainfall will occur on Friday. With locally higher amounts, three to six inches of rainfall is expected. Further east toward Nashville, rainfall totals could be higher.

    NWS also issued a wind advisory that will last until 7 a.m. on Saturday. Gusty winds will leave an impact with sustained 20-25 mph wind speeds.

    High temperatures will be in the mid-60s to lower-70s.

    Weather conditions will improve quickly going into the weekend as the storm dissipates. The rain will start to move out on Saturday, and the weather will look better by Sunday.
