MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police say robbers, after cash and cigarettes, bum-rushed a clerk inside a gas station Tuesday morning in Southwest Memphis.

A surveillance video released by MPD shows the two suspects entering the Exxon on the 4000 block of South Third Street and leaving with the stolen items. One of the suspects appeared to walk with a limp.

Investigators said the robbers punched and kicked the employee several times and forced him to the ground. One of the men placed his knee on the worker’s back, demanded he open the register, and grabbed the cash.

Police said the robbers also took tobacco products, lottery tickets, and the gas station clerk’s phone and wallet.

The men left in an older model, four-door green Infiniti with a black front bumper, tinted windows, and an unknown tag.
