MEMPHIS, Tenn. — An arrest has been made in an armed robbery that turned into a police chase in a stolen vehicle and an officer-involved shooting two months ago at a Frayser gas station. The video above shows moments during and after the robbery when shots were fired.

Roger Allen, 19, is charged with aggravated robbery and theft of property $2500-$10000.

ORIGINAL STORY: MPD investigating officer-involved shooting; 3 suspects still on the run

On August 12 around 4:40 p.m., the victim stated that he was at the EZ Express gas station on 2380 Frayser Boulevard when he was confronted by four armed males in the parking lot.

One of the suspects allegedly pointed a gun at the victim, telling him he would shoot him if he moved before taking the victim’s gun from his waistband.

That is when the victim “struggled” with the suspects, police say.

A security guard at the gas station saw the men and reportedly asked them to leave. One of the suspects then pointed a gun at the guard. The suspects fired several shots at both the victims before leaving in a white sedan.

During the exchange of gunfire, officers say they witnessed the suspects leaving the gas station from across the street. As they followed the suspects, a traffic stop was attempted at that time.

The suspects refused to stop and drove north on Mountain Terrace with the officer in pursuit. When the vehicle stopped in the 400 block of Mountain Terrace, two passengers got out and ran on foot. Police say at least one of the suspects had a gun.

The officer says he commanded the suspects to stop, but they refused. The officer then fired a shot at one of the suspects, who continued to run and was not located.

The second suspect, Jaylin Briggs , was located and taken into custody. He has since been released from jail due to lack of prosecution.

The white sedan was last seen driving away northbound on Mountain Terrace.

According to reports, the victim’s Glock 19 9 mm handgun, black iPhone, and Apple watch were stolen during the armed robbery. Police say he has “visible contusions” to his body from being hit by the suspects.

Officers say the security guard suffered from a graze wound to his chin and left arm. He was treated on the scene by paramedics.

On August 13, police say the registered owner of the white sedan reported her vehicle stolen the day before.

Roger Allen is held in jail on a $45,000 bond and is scheduled to face a judge Thursday morning.
