Two women critically injured in South Memphis shooting

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two women are in critical condition after getting shot at a large gathering on Thursday, Memphis Police say.

At approximately 9:27 p.m., officers responded to a shooting call at Mississippi Boulevard and Gaither Street regarding multiple individuals fighting and shooting different caliber weapons.

Officers were told that two female victims were injured by gunfire and taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police learned that there was a large gathering in the area that resulted in an exchange of gunfire.

Police say the location of the incident is within proximity of a City Park.

No arrests have been made but this is still an ongoing investigation.
