    Oct. 7 is the last day to register to vote in Arkansas: What to know

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Oct. 7 is 29 days from the November election and the last day to register to vote in Arkansas.

    Registering to vote for Arkansas residents is straightforward.

    The most important tip: Voter registration must be postmarked by Oct. 7. No online registration takes place in Arkansas. This means voters must either mail their registration or be at their county clerk’s office to register before closing Monday.

    If voters are unaware of their status, the secretary of state’s website can confirm your registration and even show local polling places.

    To use an absentee ballot , a voter must have their request in by Oct. 29, and their ballot must be returned in person by Nov. 1 or received by mail by 7:30 p.m. Nov. 5.

    Early voting starts in two weeks, on Oct. 21. Election day, the last day to vote, is Nov. 5.

    A voter must be a U.S. citizen, live in Arkansas at the address of their voter registration, be 18 years old by election day and not be a convicted felon, a voter in another jurisdiction or judged mentally incompetent by a court to vote in Arkansas.
