    Duo accused of car thefts, burglaries in Oxford, MS

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Oxford Police Department arrested two suspects they say are responsible for burglarizing and stealing cars in the Oxford, Mississippi area.

    Caleb Carrothers, 22, and Demarcus Govan, 20, were both charged with Commercial Burglary, two counts of Motor Vehicle Theft, and three counts of Conspiracy to Commit a Crime.

    On September 24, the OPD responded to a vehicle theft in the 2000 block of Heritage Drive. Police say an investigation into the incident revealed that the suspect was linked to another car theft involving another person.

    Carrothers and Govan were found to have been involved in the theft. They also allegedly stole personal items from multiple vehicles.

    On September 29, officers responded to two more calls involving car thefts, one in the 1400 block of Haden Lane, and the other on the 100 block of Haden Lane.

    Carrothers and Govan were identified by the OPD as the suspects responsible for the thefts. The investigation also uncovered evidence of the duo being involved in additional car thefts and the theft of personal items.

    A bond for Carrothers and Govan has been set, but the amount is unknown at this time.

    I say let these yuppies go near the sardis lake area and tell the locals there is a bounty on their heads. 1st one to catch these thieves gets the reward. That being said, when they encounter the snakes,critters, and everything else that creeps and crawls, they'll not want to steal anymore
