MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Grizzlies fell short in their first effort during their preseason slate to the Charlotte Hornets 119-94.

The Grizzlies only trailed by two points after the first quarter but saw themselves down by 17 points in the first half.

Desmond Bane led Memphis with 17 points, and the Grizzlies’ rookies Jaylen Wells and Zach Edey also showed productivity during the loss.

The Grizzlies return to action Saturday in Chicago against the Bulls.
