MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Texas electronics company announced it will expand with a location in Memphis next year, creating more than 200 local jobs, the Greater Memphis Chamber said Wednesday.

Reconext says it will invest $9 million in the southeast Memphis location near Lamar and Holmes, slated to be fully operational by early 2025.

The company performs repair and refurbishment of electronics and asset recovery. According to its website, 40% of Fortune 500 companies rely on its products, and it currently has 23 locations worldwide.

The new Memphis positions include engineering, administrative and production roles, and will allow the company to support its client base across the Southeast.

“By choosing Memphis for their expansion, Reconext is leveraging our city’s exceptional logistics network to enhance their customer support,” said Ted Townsend, President and CEO of the Greater Memphis Chamber. “With the addition of our diverse IT talent, we anticipate significant success for Reconext in Memphis.”

Elon Musk’s xAI recently built an AI supercomputer in Memphis, the first project in what Townsend touts as Memphis’ place in the “Digital Delta.”
