Memphis Tiger super fan celebrates 200th game versus North Texas

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Lifelong Memphian Bobby Sanford has seen it all.

From the days when it was tough to watch a Tiger’s game from start to finish.

To memories of a lifetime, he’s stuck with his Tigers through it all.

” It’s been amazing the last 10 years with the eight, nine, 10 win seasons, I’ve seen 14 coaches go back to spoke so it’s been great,” said Sanford.

Since retiring, Bobby decided to count back the decades through old ticket stubs and game day programs, to see just how many games he’s attended.

” I’ve played with this for a while, I’ve had tubs that I’ve kept stuff in old programs, and I’d usually throw my ticket stub in there and I started going through stuff and I said, ‘ I wonder how many games I’ve been to, U haven’t been to as many games as I used to, but I still try to make one, two or three home games a season”.

Bobby will be in attendance on Saturday when Memphis takes on North Texas. It will mark his 200th game supporting the Tigers.

Something that started with his dad, he’s passed down to his four children and now his family has been cheering on the Tigers for four generations and counting.

“Everybody’s a fan down to the four-year-old, and we’ve got one that’s not a year yet already in Tiger stuff”.
