    Suspect hurt in shootout with deputy in Cordova: SCSO

    SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. — A suspect fired a gun at a deputy, and the deputy fired back, hitting the man, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office said.

    It happened around 1:30 a.m. Saturday in Cordova, as Spanish Trail Lane and Mirage Lane.

    Deputies were responding to a report of a suspicious person when they found the suspect, who allegedly fired at deputies, SCSO said.

    A deputy shot back, hitting the man in the hand, and later taking him into custudy.

    The man was taken to Regional One with non-critical injuries.

    The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is conducting the investigation.
