    Tigers outlast North Texas 52-44 to earn sixth win of the season and become bowl eligible

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis went blow for blow with the high-powered offense of North Texas as the Mean Green outgained the Tigers 653 to 526 total yards, but a pair of takeaways for the Tigers came up big in the 52-44 win.

    Running back Mario Anderson Jr. put together his best scoring performance of his career, scoring a personal best four times, and tying a school record. Anderson also racked up 185 rushing yards on 22 carries.

    Quarterback Seth Henigan led the Tigers in the pocket throwing for 319 yards with two touchdowns.

    Defensive back Greg Rubin finished with eight solo tackles, followed by linebacker Chandler Martin who finished with six solos and four assisted tackles.

    Memphis improves to 6-1 and becomes bowl-eligible for an 11th consecutive season.

    Memphis is back in action when they host Charlotte at 11 a.m. at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium.
