Man dead after Midtown shooting

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A deadly shooting in Midtown has a hotel at the center of an investigation.

The shooting occurred around noon on Sunday on Linden Avenue, just two blocks away from a busy Union Avenue.

WREG spoke with a hotel manager who said that a male guest was shot and rushed to the hospital. Police say he later died there.

A woman who spoke with a WREG reporter said that she was shocked to hear about the shooting but it was a reminder that everywhere you go, you have to keep your head on a swivel.

“Memphis is out of control right now,” resident Janet Jackson said. “You have to watch your surroundings wherever you are and be extra careful these days because you just never know.”

Memphis Police say that this is an ongoing investigation.
