Kevin Nash says he spoke with LA Knight at WWE SummerSlam, and there was no heat between them.
Nash has made some controversial comments about LA Knight in the past, and Knight has fired back . Nash later apologized for what he said. Knight continued to rise to stardom at WWE SummerSlam, as he won the WWE United States Championship.
Speaking on his Kliq This podcast, Kevin Nash commented on attending WWE SummerSlam. He also revealed that he spoke with LA Knight backstage.
I looked over my shoulder, and I saw LA Knight was sitting at a table. So I went over, and I said hi to the guys at that time, none of them I’d ever met before. Theory was there, I don’t know if I’d met him or not. I met some guys at NXT, but I can’t remember, there used to be a lot of guys down there, and then it’s hard to tell. I think Theory’s too young, I think I’ve just seen him on TV. So LA Knight was sitting at the end of the table, and I sat down at the table behind him. He turned around, and I just said, ‘So you finally getting to f**king go over tonight? He goes, ‘Something like that.’
“We talked, and I asked, because he was working with Logan Paul, I just asked him how it was to work with Paul. Is he a natural? Is he paint-by-numbers? He just have me his opinion on how he handled the situation, not for me to explain on this show because I don’t want Logan Paul and his relationship to be verified or injured by a comment that I make that I might have construed differently than it was meant to be said to be. But no, he seemed like a really guy. There was no heat between us.”
Kevin Nash: We Were Cool
Nash then noted that there was no reference to what they had previously said about each other. He stated that he was not trying to harm Knight with what he had said. Nash went on to reiterate that they were cool. He also emphasized that he wanted WWE to do well.
“Nobody is trying to hurt anybody in this business,” Kevin Nash said. “I wasn’t trying to take food off his table. Other people have mocked my words to him in promos on their television. So I’d rather be the guy being talked about than the guy not being talked about.
“That’s just the way I look at it. If I’m talking about you, because I can talk about anybody I want to in wrestling, there’s a bunch of dead guys I could talk sh*t about that could never rebuttal anything. To meet the new breed of guys, I’m not trying to piss anybody off. I want that company to excel. We were cool.”
