Chelsea Green: I Want Matt Cardona In The WWE, His Heart Lies Here

Chelsea Green wants her husband Matt Cardona to return to the WWE.

The former WWE Intercontinental Champion was released by the company in 2020 , after 15 years with the WWE. After a brief stint in AEW , he became a huge star on the indie circuit, reinventing himself as the “Death Match King” and “King of the Indies”. He has recently been working with GCW and TNA.

This has been his most successful period to date, and until her return to the WWE last year, Chelsea Green was by his side throughout. It is clear that she has missed working with the former NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion, and wants to reunite with him soon.

“I mean, I definitely want him in WWE,” said Chelsea Green. “We’ve had the craziest two years. I’ve been on the road so much, so busy, and he’s been the busiest he’s ever been. We’re not even seeing each other that much, which is also crazy. But, at the end of the day, I know where his heart lies and his heart lies in WWE.

“He always wanted to be a WWE Superstar; he didn’t want to be anything else. He didn’t grow up wanting to be an independent wrestler, he didn’t grow up wanting some other job. He grew up wanting to be a WWE Superstar. He wanted to be Macho Man [Randy Savage], he wanted to be Hulk [Hogan], he wanted to be Booker T.”
