    Mariah May always planned to turn on Toni Storm , and their match happening at Wembley Stadium is just a plus

    After winning the Mae Young Classic earlier this year, Mariah May brutally attacked her former partner. She left Toni Storm bloodied and battered on the ramp, opening her up with her own white high-heeled shoe.

    That began one of the most heated feuds in wrestling. It has grown into the most highly-anticipated bout going into AEW All In on Sunday.

    Mariah May appeared on Wrestling With Freddie . She spoke with Freddie Prinze Jr about her plans for turning on Toni Storm.

    She revealed that she did not know it would be for a match at Wembley Stadium, but did it simply because her goal was to turn on Toni Storm.

    The British star noted that Toni Storm was a huge star in the UK. She was always the “top goal” for any wrestler, and one she wanted to follow in her footsteps;

    “It’s funny, and I wouldn’t say that I turned on Toni. No, no, this was always the plan for me. There was no turning on my end. And no, I didn’t know it would be Wembley. I didn’t know it would be for the World Championship. For me, the goal was always Toni Storm.”

    “You know I’m from the UK. Toni was the top goal in the UK. You list out some of my accolades; Toni Storm’s accolades in the UK would be three times as long as that. And so when I started training, Toni was always the top goal.”

    “She was always so much to aspire to be in the UK and Europe, and then she obviously went to stardom, and she pretty much did everything you can do in stardom. So for me, she was really the blueprint of like, if I want to become a successful wrestler, if I want to make it out of the UK—which was always the goal because the UK sucks—I need to follow in this one’s footsteps.”

    Mariah May Says Wembley Is A Beautiful Addition, But Wasn’t The Goal

    Mariah May continued. She revealed that her match with Storm being in her hometown is a “beautiful addition” to the feud.

    However, that wasn’t part of her original plan. As soon as Tony Khan announced the winner of the Owen Hart Cup would earn a title shot at All In, she knew it was time for her plan to spring into action.

    “When the opportunity presented itself to go to AEW, and to be—I’ve never actually been in the same company or presence as Toni Storm. I’ve always kind of watched her from afar. So to actually be in the same company as her, that was the time to go and take that opportunity and follow in her footsteps and get so close to her.”

    “And the fact that it’s Wembley, the fact that it’s my hometown, and it’s our biggest stage at All In is a beautiful addition. But that was never part of my original plan. That kind of came into my head when Tony Khan announced that the Owen Hart Foundation would go on to Wembley, and then I was like, ‘Okay, this is the place where I end Toni Storm’s career.’ I could have done it on a Dynamite. I could have done it on Collision. Hell, I could have done it on Rampage. But the fact I could do it on our biggest stage and finally put her out to pasture—I just couldn’t turn that up.”
