Cody Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa Bull Rope Match Headlines WWE Event In Manchester, England

Cody Rhodes will have his hands full with Solo Sikoa in the next few weeks.

Fresh off of the announcement that Rhodes will defend his title against Solo Sikoa on SmackDown, WWE confirmed another big match against the Bloodline leader.

On Friday, it was confirmed that Rhodes would defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Solo Sikoa. This match will take place on the USA Network/season premiere of SmackDown on September 13.

Today, WWE also announced the match card for its live event at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, England. This event will take place on Wednesday, October 16. Cody Rhodes will also defend his title against Sikoa in a Bull Rope match. Two other matches have been announced so far.

Announced matches at press time:

• Cody Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa – Undisputed WWE Championship Bull Rope Match
• Gunther vs. Jey Uso – World Heavyweight Championship Street Fight
• Nia Jax Vs. Bayley – WWE Women’s Championship Match

LA Knight, Shinsuke Nakamura, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, Jacob Fatu, #DIY, Santos Escobar, Andrade, Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill, Chelsea Green, Piper Niven and Randy Orton are also advertised for the event in Manchester. Tickets are available now.

Cody Rhodes doesn’t like the word ‘tired’ at all

During the post-show Press Conference following the WWE Bash in Berlin Premium Live Event, Cody Rhodes reflected on his time as the top champion and the responsibilities he has.

“I dreamed…this was a big thing I wanted, to win the WWE Title and be the first Rhodes with the biggest prize in our game. I can’t say it’s not been what I envisioned as much as, I could have never guessed, even with a lifetime of building up to it, I could have never guessed the amount of responsibility that is handed to you in terms of how you go about doing the live events, how you go about doing your press. Every piece of that, I thought I would have a lifetime to prepare for it.

“I remember Roman Reigns actually said something to me in an interview, face-to-face, he was talking about the idea of ‘if.’ ‘If’ I was to get to the edge of the mountain and actually do this, that I’d be really tired. I don’t like the T word, at all. I don’t believe in it in our industry.”
