Dwight Howard says Ric Flair effectively talked him out of wrestling.

Eight-time NBA All-Star Dwight Howard appeared at the WWE tryouts during SummerSlam week in 2022, and he cut a buzzworthy promo. Triple H later said that the ball was in Howard’s court regarding him potentially joining WWE. Since then, updates have been few and far between.

Speaking with TMZ Sports , Dwight Howard was asked about getting into wrestling, and he noted that Ric Flair talked him out of it.

“I was talking to Ric Flair,” Howard said. “He said I don’t know if my knees [are] good for wrestling. My knees feel good, it’s just wrestling. You’re talking about picking up 300-pound dudes and all that stuff. Nobody wants to do that for their whole life.”

During his NBA career, Howard also made the All-NBA First Team five times. He is also a three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year.

Howard, a former NBA Champion, will compete on the upcoming season of “Dancing With The Stars”.
