Walker Stewart Announces New Role As STARDOM’s English Commentator

NJPW ‘s Lead English Broadcast Commentator Walker Stewart announced that he will begin providing English play-by-play commentary for STARDOM . He has provided English commentary for NJPW for about 11 months, starting his work in October 2023.

Per his official statement on Twitter, his English commentary work for STARDOM starts at the promotion’s upcoming Nagoya Golden Fight event on October 5.

Upon reaching out for a comment, STARDOM informed WrestleZone that President Taro Okada is calling for further integration of English commentators onto their existing commentary teams. This consequently centralizes NJPW and STARDOM’s English personnel to work towards operational efficiency. STARDOM will furthermore monitor key performance indicators, particularly international pay-per-view buys, to make business decisions on the regularity of English commentary.

As Walker Stewart noted on Twitter, English commentary for STARDOM is limited to select pay-per-views at the moment. Such events include Historic X-Over II and Dream Queendom IV later this year. Additionally, color commentary is also a developing project that President Okada wishes to implement in the near future.
