Trick Williams Regains NXT Title, CM Punk Hits Ethan Page With GTS Post-Match

Trick Williams is now a two-time NXT Champion.

In the main event of NXT’s CW Network premiere, Trick Williams challenged Ethan Page for the NXT Championship in a match where CM Punk was the special referee. Page tried to cheat at points throughout the match, but CM Punk refused to give him an unfair advantage. Page mocked Punk by hitting Williams with a GTS.

In the closing moments, Punk somewhat got involved, as he caught Williams when Page went for an Ego’s Edge. Williams then hit the Trick Knee for the win. Punk raised his arm and dropped Page with a GTS after the match as he tried to ruin Williams’ celebration.

Punk helps both men up and tells them to fight. Page and Williams trade strikes. Slingshot Book End by Williams. Page kicks out. He gets in Punk’s face. Page stares Punk down and hits Williams with a GTS. Williams kicks out. Page lands a boot that sends Williams into the corner, but Punk catches him since he is standing there. Williams avoids a charging Page, lands the Trick Shot, and gets the pin.

Page won the title at NXT Heatwave in a four-way match that included Williams. He held the gold for 87 days.
