Jey Uso ‘s “Yeet” movement in WWE spans back a few years now. However, it was nearly derailed. In 2021, after WWE learned that independent wrestler Kassey Huffman previously filed a trademark on “Yeet”, it seemed like Jey Uso’s “Yeeting” days were over.

His “Yeet” shirt was pulled from WWE Shop, but it was later posted again. Fans were left to wonder what happened that made the company change their mind.

In an update, AEW’s QT Marshall , a close friend of Cody Rhodes, says that he had a hand in the process. Speaking on Gabby AF , he recalled how he contacted Rhodes because he knew the wrestler who owned the trademark. (H/t Skylar Russell of Fightful for the transcription)

“I saw that they had the t-shirt up and then it was gone,” QT Marshall said. “I reached out to Cody and I said, ‘Hey, I know the kid that owns the word.’ He was like, ‘You think you can get in touch with him?’ I was like, ‘Yeah, I’ll call him right now.’ I don’t know how it happened, I got that kid, I spoke to him, I told Cody we’re in a little group chat. Within a day or two, Jey Uso had it. I’m not saying it was because of me.”

Jey Uso’s momentum has continued in recent months. He beat Bron Breakker to win the title on the September 23 episode of WWE RAW.
