Claudio Castagnoli Looks Forward To Emotional Match Against Bryan Danielson

AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson ‘s full-time in-ring career is winding down, and his longtime friend Claudio Castagnoli appreciates having one more match against him.

Danielson and Wheeler Yuta will face Castagnoli and PAC on the October 8 episode of AEW Dynamite. Depending on the outcome of AEW WrestleDream, this could be Danielson’s last match on Dynamite. The champion has made it clear that he will be retiring from full-time competition after he loses the title, and he will defend the gold against Jon Moxley at WrestleDream.

In an interview with Rick Ucchino for The Takedown on SI , Claudio Castagnoli discussed facing Danielson.

“It’s gonna be very emotional,” Castagnoli said. “I was in Bryan’s last match before, when he was forced to retire. It was a tag match as well, and I was in it. It was in London, England. This, I think, will be on a little bit different terms. I mean, obviously like I said, it’s gonna be very emotional if that’s the last time I’m going to be standing across the ring from Bryan. It’s gonna be special.”

AEW then shared a clip in which Bryan Danielson responded to Castagnoli’s comments:
