    GRTC LINK microtransit service officially launching in Powhatan Monday

    POWHATAN COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Greater Richmond Transit Company’s (GRTC) LINK microtransit service will officially launch in Powhatan County with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, May 6.

    Powhatan’s zone will be along Anderson Highway between Old Buckingham Road and Stavemill Road, as well as areas north of Anderson Highway between Academy Road and Red Lane Road. The zone will also include the nearly Westchester Commons shopping center in Chesterfield County.

    GRTC’s LINK service is currently operating in areas of Henrico County and Richmond’s Northside around Richmond Raceway, as well as Chesterfield and the Ashland area . GRTC says areas of eastern Henrico and New Kent County will also be getting LINK service later this year .

    LINK is in operation from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. Riders will need to download the GRTC app in order to use LINK, more information on how to ride LINK can be found here . Like the rest of GRTC’s services, LINK is free until at least June 30.
