Public comment period opening for Board of Wildlife Resources’ regulations for hunting with hounds

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Board of Wildlife Resources will open its public comment period for regulations related to hunting with hounds.

According to the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR), the public comment period for regulations on hunting with hounds opens Wednesday, May 22 and will close on Friday, July 5.

Landowners, hunters and all other interested people are encouraged to review the regulations and offer their comments .

The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR) online system is the most efficient way to submit comments. People may also submit comments by emailing regcomments@dwr.virginia.gov or by mailing communication to Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources, Attn: Policy Analyst and Regulatory Coordinator, P.O. Box 90778, Henrico, Virginia, 23228.

DWR said that comments must be in writing and include the name, address and phone number of the party involved. Comments submitted outside of the online system must be received no later than 4 p.m. on July 5.
