HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — An article on Southern Living Magazine’s website listing Virginia’s 20 most beautiful parks and attractions “as suggested by a local who’s criss-crossed the state more than a few times” named Henrico County’s Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden as the sixth-most beautiful.

The article, which says the garden is located in Richmond, describes it as “an oasis that captivates locals and visitors alike.” The article mentions two areas of the garden, the Asian Valley , which features cascading water and plants native to Asia, and the Louise Cochrane Rose Garden , which features more than 1,500 roses spanning 9,000 square feet.

Other sites mentioned in the article include Shenandoah National Park, Chincoteague Island, Natural Bridge State Park and Old Town Alexandria.
