Man dead after shooting in Richmond, police investigating as homicide

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Richmond Police Department is investigating a homicide after officers found a man dead in the street with a gunshot wound on Sunday.

According to the department, at around 5:07 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, officers were called to the 1700 block of North 28th Street after a report of a person being shot. They found a man down on the ground with a gunshot wound and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The medical examiner has yet to determine the cause and manner of death.
