    First-ever Labor Fest coming to Louisa County for Labor Day weekend

    LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Louisa County will host its first-ever Labor Fest over Labor Day weekend at Walton Park with live music, activities, food vendors and more.

    According to a county spokesperson, the festival is named for the days leading up to the Labor Day holiday and pays tribute to the history of mining labor in the town of Mineral in the county.

    Festivities will begin with a parade at 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30 and a performance by Bailey Hayes at 7 p.m.

    A 5k run will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31 and the festival opens at 10 a.m. Attendees can enjoy craft vendors, a beer and wine garden, a cornhole tournament and attractions for the kids. The Swon Brothers will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

    Festivities will resume at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 1, to include a yoga session, car show and a fitness demo.

    The spokesperson said multiple food trucks will provide treats throughout the weekend.
