One dead, three injured after head-on crash in Chesterfield County

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — One person is dead and three people are injured after a head-on crash occurred in Chesterfield County Wednesday evening.

The Chesterfield County Police Department said two vehicles crashed head-on at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14 at the intersection of Buford Road and Kenwin Road, after which four people were taken to local hospitals with serious injuries.

Buford Road was then closed between Hazen Street and Polk Street, after which it was reopened.

One of the people that was taken to the hospital later died due to their injuries, according to police. Another person is in critical condition and the other two people have non-life-threatening injuries.

The identity of the person who died is being withheld until next of kin is notified.

Police continue to investigate the crash. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 804-748-1251.
