RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Maymont Park in Richmond has released its lineup of fall outdoor events, ranging from an Oktoberfest celebration to a “Merry Market” meant to ring in the winter season.

A press release sent out by the 100-acre historic estate and public park detailed all of the outdoor events it will be hosting from September to December.

Some events take place over a weekend or during a window of time. Others are set for specific dates throughout the fall season. Here’s what to expect when visiting Maymont this autumn.

Bier-Garden: Saturday, Sept. 21 and Sunday, Sept. 22

This two-day celebration of all things “beer, brats and family fun” takes place on the first weekend of both fall and the worldwide Volksfest known as Oktoberfest, according to the release.

Those 21 and over will be able to enjoy an authentic Paualner beer or a craft beer from Bingo Beer Co. and Väsen, or even participate in a Stein-Hoisting Contest. According to the release, there will be plenty of German-style food from Capital Ale House — as well as other specialty chefs — to go around.

The Festhaus tent will sport long tables where attendees to relax and eat, with music provided by DJ BearBonez. Jonathan the Juggler will be performing and there will be plenty of lawn games to partake in.

According to Maymont, kids can visit the Kinderzone to take part in crafts and games, spend time with farm animals and enjoy kid-friendly food supplied by food trucks. Those food options will include funnel cakes, popcorn and waffles.

There will also be a Marketplaz filled with local artisans. According to Maymont, this will include vendors selling hand-crafted treats and gifts.

All of this excitement will take place from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the Carriage House Lawn.

There will be live performances on both days — the Pay Rent Brass Band will entertain on Saturday and the Monumentals on Sunday.
