Miles of backups were on section of I-64 West in New Kent County due to disabled vehicle

NEW KENT COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Drivers expected delays on a section of Interstate 64 West in New Kent County due to a disabled vehicle, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

At around 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 16, the Virginia Department of Transportation reported that the left travel lane was closed on I-64 West near Courthouse Road due to a disabled vehicle.

According to the department, there were four miles of traffic backups. Drivers were advised to seek alternate routes.

At 10:36 a.m., the department reported that the scene and traffic backups were cleared.
