PHOTOS: Back to School Bash in Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The 3rd annual Back to School Bash took place in Chesterfield on Saturday, as community members joined together to send kids back to school in style.

The back to school event took place on Saturday, Aug. 17 and ran from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. giving families ample time to enjoy free backpacks, a kid zone with a gaming truck and free ice cream.

David Potter, the Community Recreation Manager for Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation, spoke to 8News about what events like this can provide for community members.

“We believe that if you look good, you feel good, and [if] you have the tools you need to learn you’ll have a successful school year. So all of this came together just to make these kids successful,” Potter said.
