    Firefighters free person trapped in burning car after severe crash in Prince George

    PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Firefighters in Prince George County freed a person trapped in a car on fire after a severe multi-vehicle crash on Monday morning.

    Just before 9 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 19, multiple people called the Prince George Emergency Communications Center to report a crash near the intersection of Jefferson Park Road and Middle Road involving several vehicles. According to Prince George County Fire and EMS, the callers said there may be people trapped.

    Firefighters arrived at the scene to find that the crash had caused significant damage to the involved vehicles and that one of the vehicles was beginning to catch fire.

    According to fire officials, the responding firefighters quickly put out the flames before freeing the person inside the car. They were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

    Fire officials did not report any additional injuries in the Facebook post detailing the incident.
