Missing 70-year-old Mecklenburg man found, according to Virginia State Police

UPDATE: Around 3 p.m., Virginia State Police reported that Currin had been found.

MECKLENBURG COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Virginia State Police is asking for help locating a missing 70-year-old man who was last seen in Mecklenburg County near the North Carolina state line.

According to police, 70-year-old Clay George Currin was last seen at around 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20, on Pine Lane in Mecklenburg County, just north of the North Carolina County line. He was last seen wearing a blue fishing shirt, shorts and no shoes and is believed to be on foot.

Currin stands about 5’8″ and weighs around 150 pounds with blue eyes and grey hair. Anyone who has seen him or has information related to his whereabouts is asked to call the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office at 434-738-0028.
