RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond Battlefield Park will turn back the clock this weekend with a reenactment of the Battle of Richmond of the American Civil War.

Those looking to enjoy the reenactment can visit the park, located at 3215 E. Broad St. in Richmond, on Saturday, Aug. 24 and Sunday, Aug. 25. Gates will open at 10 a.m., with battles set for 2 p.m. both days.

The Battle of Richmond was fought on Aug. 29 and 30, 1893, during the Civil War. According to event organizers, this battle actually took place in the Richmond area of Kentucky’s Madison County as part of the Confederacy’s attempts to capture the state.
