Where to find outdoor gear in the Richmond area

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Looking to grab some gear for a camping trip before summer comes to an end? Here’s a few places where you can find outdoor gear in the Richmond area.

REI

Located in Henrico County’s Short Pump area, REI offers a wide variety of outdoor gear for most activities. In addition, the store features a bike shop where folks can get repairs made.

An REI Co-op membership gets you more discounts as well as access to the Re/Supply room, where you can find used gear for a discount.

Trail Hut Gear Exchange

Trail Hut is an outdoor consignment store in Richmond’s Monroe Ward area near the Richmond Public Library’s Main Library, where visitors can find used gear like clothes, packs, shoes, water vessels and more.

The store also offers gear for rent that can be reserved.

Walkabout Outfitter

Walkabout Outfitter is an outdoor clothing and gear shop found in Richmond’s Carytown area. The shop is right next door to Plan 9 Music and is across from Mellow Mushroom.

Sierra

Sierra is located in the Short Pump Crossing Shopping Center in Henrico County’s Short Pump area.

The store is a sister store of TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Homegoods and Homesense, and offers outdoor and active gear.
