DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Dinwiddie County Board of Supervisors has named a new Chief of Fire & EMS.

The board has appointed David Y. Kissner, who has more than 32 years of public service experience, including as Deputy Fire Chief in Colonial Heights, to lead the department.

“David Kissner’s vast experience and proven leadership ability make him the ideal choice as our new Chief of Fire and EMS,” said Dinwiddie County Administrator W. Kevin Massengill. “I am confident that under his direction, Fire and EMS, Emergency Communications, and Animal Control will continue to excel in providing top-tier services to our community. Chief Kissner has an impressive track record and his professional expertise ensures that Dinwiddie County is in capable hands as we further enhance these vital services.”

Kissner, who is a Dinwiddie resident and has previously volunteered with the Ford Volunteer Fire Department, will start as Dinwiddie Fire Chief on Sept. 16.
