    Colonial Heights Animal Control asking for help after abandoned puppy found tied to building

    COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WRIC) — Colonial Heights Animal Control is asking for help from the community as it work to determine who abandoned a puppy and tied it to the side of a building in the city.

    According to a post on the city animal control’s Facebook page on Thursday, Aug. 22, the “sweet baby” was tied to the side of a building located at 3424 Boulevard in Colonial Heights.

    “He was left with no food, no water, just had the collar and leash tied to the fence post,” said Colonial Heights Animal Control in the post.

    The agency is working to identify the person who abandoned the puppy and is waiting to receive security camera footage from the area.

    Anyone who recognizes the puppy, which is pictured above, or has information related to this incident is asked to call Colonial Heights Animal Control at 804-520-9397, ext. 5.
