    Hanover home damaged in fire, no injuries

    HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A home in Hanover County was damaged by a fire on Thursday evening, but no one was injured.

    According to the Hanover County Fire and EMS Department, the fire took place at around 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22 at a home on the 8200 block of Bell Creek Road in the Mechanicsville area of the county.

    Nine units responded to the home and found significant flames coming from the side and back of the structure. The fire was under control by 6:17 p.m. Thursday with help from the Metro Richmond Flying Squad.

    All of the home’s occupants got out safely and no one was injured, they are being assisted by the American Red Cross. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
